Feeding Birds is an experiential sculpture in the rite of passage of the gallery space. Along a predestined path, Feeding Birds offers audiences delicate prompt feeds to select. The first part of the prompt feeds – the hybrid Cantonese-English feathers – draws reference from Mok Man Cheung’s English Made Easy, a local publication for English learning in the late 19th century. The second part of the prompt feeds is the assembled components, which originated from todays’ Pinyin-English texts and emerging Mandarin linguistics on Hong Kong streets.

Juvenile birds, choose your feathers and corporeal forms. Feeding Birds invites audiences to approach with low-fidelity intelligence. Consider the possibility of becoming an artificial avian entity.

Will you be fed? Or, are you the bird?
