Cathleen Ching Yee Lau is an interdisciplinary sculptor and cross-media installation artist born in Hawaii and based in Hong Kong, she graduated from the Hong Kong Art School (RMIT) with a specialization in sculpture. Renowned for utilizing sculpting and craftsmanship to portray the contemporary allure of artificial flaws, she specializes in mixed-media sculpture, delves into mixed media to examine concepts of time and power dynamics.. Embracing a drifting multidentity, she navigates through urban and natural microcosms, exploring the fluid boundaries of ethnicity. Her work delves into the coexistence, conflicts, and enigmatic forces of different biological entities and foreign bodies, while contemplating the sustainability of humanity and the brain.
She received the Professor May Ching Kao Arts Development Fund in 2023, the 2019 Reaching Out Scholarship for Craft Exchange in Japan and Land Art, the 2018 Hong Kong Human Rights Arts Prize Director’s Choice Award, the 2018 Affordable Art Fair Young Talent Award, and the 2016 Taipei Art Free Day Outstanding Work Award. Additionally, she was honored with the “Diploma of Ex- cellence in Sculpture” in 2015. Her exhibitions have spanned across Switzerland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. She is also the founder of collaborative independent space, Mist Gallery.

獲2023高美慶藝術發展基金、2019 Reaching Out Scholarship 到日 本交流工藝及大地藝術,2018 香港人權獎評審獎,2018 Affordable Art Fair Young Talent、 2016 台北藝術自由日作品優選 獎、2015「高 級文憑最佳作品獎(雕塑)」。作品在瑞士、台灣、香港及澳門展出。 為合作式獨立空間Mist Gallery創辦人。
